The traditional
film can is manufactured from British tinplate 0.30 - 0.36 mm thick
temper 2, in 'bright' finish as standard. Many worldwide film archives
agree, tinplate has excellent inert qualities that allow film to
be stored for immensely long periods of time without reaction or
contamination.
